Close enough to touch; all she had to do was lift her hand. She clutched the bag tighter and took a step back. “Ty—” Jenny couldn’t swallow past the words crowding her throat. The things she wanted to say were better left unspoken. “Tyson, I know we have somewhat of a history.” He arched an eyebrow, his mocking gaze challenging her to expand on their “history”. “But, can’t we be civil?” She fought the need to close her eyes as she wished she were anyplace but here. She wanted to click her heels three times and wake up safe and sound back in her apartment in California. A thousand miles away from this man and the turbulent emotions he stirred inside of her, but mostly she wanted to touch him, and that scared the hell out of her. “Civil?” He drew out the word, as if it were a foreign word he was hearing for the first time. “Do you think it’s possible for two people who have licked the sweat off each other’s skin to be “civil”? “I—I just…” She backed away from him, the combination of his words and her memories wreaked havoc on her senses. Images slammed into her consciousness, and she could almost feel the weight of his body pressed against hers. She took another step back. She needed to get out the barn and as far away from him as possible. He followed her, invading her personal space, until she had no place else to go and her back was up against the wall. He continued to come at her still, until he had her pinned, crowded between two hard surfaces. She clutched her bag lodged between them, studied her hands, and refused to look up at him. “You just what?” His warm breath brushed her temple. She caught the scent of coffee and cinnamon, and tried not to give into the shiver it sent through her body. “Huh, Miss Jenny? You just what? Wanna be civil?” He grasped her chin in his hand and bought it up until her eyes met his. “If I remember correctly, you were anything but civil that night. I remember you clutching at me, begging me, and crying out my name.” He leaned forward until their faces were inches apart. “Now, I’m not the most learned man, and I didn’t attend no fancy university in California, but I’m almost positive that ain’t the meaning of the word.” She congratulated herself on meeting his gaze, when her legs wanted to slide down the wall in a boneless heap until she pooled at his feet. “And I don’t think it means to satisfy one’s curiosity about the wild neighbor boy and then run off to California as if you never had your legs wrapped around his neck while you shuddered against his mouth.” His words should have humiliated. Instead, they conjured dark images of the night she had cast everything aside—her pride, her caution, the possible consequences, and begged Tyson to fuck her. She flinched when he brushed his lips against hers, feeling the touch in the pit of her stomach. He licked her bottom lip, and Jenny’s own tongue darted out to taste the moisture he left behind. His eyes followed the small movement before his mouth crushed hers. She moaned and returned the kiss. Her body had been waiting for this. She lost focus and awareness of everything else as she concentrated on the taste and texture of Ty’s lips. She dropped her bag, entwined her fingers in his hair and pulled him deeper into the kiss, tangling her tongue with his. She squeaked in surprise as he grabbed handfuls of her ass and started to lift her. Instinctively, she wrapped her legs around his waist. His pelvis rocked against hers, and she tore her mouth from his, gasping for air. His erection brushed against her core, and she cried out, resenting the fabric that separated them. Before she could reach between them and get rid of the only barrier blocking him from where she needed him to be, Ty let go of her bottom and pushed away from her. Jenny collapsed against the wall and tried to steady herself. The heat in the barn was excruciating, and her skin screamed for his touch. Jenny fought to control her breathing as she touched the back of her hand to her swollen lips. He was the one to step back this time. He stood looking at her, his chest heaving. “Nah, Miss Jenny. I wouldn’t call that civil at all.” He gave her another thorough once over and walked out of the barn. Hi everyone, Well, I'm still working my butt off trying to make not only my set goal for the end of this week, but I've decided to add three more stories to the mix. I have a deadline on one of the end of Sept. The second by Oct first and another following just after that so I've been very busy, which is why I haven't checked in everyday. I hope ya'll don't mind me taking a break to write and only checking in every so often for a while. What a Day

I'm telling you, when the day starts off bad don't bother getting up. Just crawl back under those covers, bury head and all, and say the heck with it till tomorrow. My morning started at 6:45 am after two hours sleep. Yep, only two hours. My sons, instead of going to school this morning, had a doctors appointment. Fun dragging three boys to the doctors office let me tell ya. After arriving at the doctors office 15 minutes early to a packed waiting room, we ended up waiting an additional 55 minutes to be called back. K, I'll be nice. Keep your irritation under control, you're just exhausted. Not, once back there it took another thirty minutes for all three boys to be weighed and bp's taken then trips to the potty for collection. K, getting irked now. Then we get placed in the room and nurse says strip to your underwear. K, no problem, but boys protest big time to her request and it's freezing in the room. Another thirty five minutes pass before the doctor finally decides to show up. Ten minutes later all three boys get a bill of health, three prescriptions and new medical info added to their charts. So I make a comment to the doctor about how busy he is and he replies "Yeah everybody waits till the last minute before school starts" Now I'm pissed and reply, "My kids have been in school for two weeks now. Due to my insurance I have to wait exactly a year to the day before I can bring my three in for their yearly physcials" He waves me off and walks out. Yeah kiss my ass to you too doc. Geez. So another twenty five minutes later I have school excuses, a scolosis xray order for my youngest twin son, and am checked out. Then it's off to the hospital next door, where I am moved from one end to the other before finally forty five minutes later my son is called back for his xray. (Yes I'm gritting my teeth by now with three kids hollering Mom I'm hungry) So I leave the hospital after a grand total of an hour and fifteen minutes and take them to get something to eat. Kids fed and quiet in the backseat I then head for the pharmacy to be told it'll be an hour wait before their meds are ready. Yep the kiddos didn't take that one well either. Mom is ready to pull her hair out and is having a really hard time keeping her eyes open without effort. I ask the lady to just keep the prescripts till tomorrow and I'll pick them up then. My kids do not do well in town or all day trips out (hey their mountain boys). They're tired, cranky and fighting like cats and dogs here. One more stop to go and finally I'm headed home. The minute I walk through the door my oldest son hits the sack, my other two hit the couches to kick back and watch tv and mom's sitting there wishing like hell she could take a nap as she begins to tackle the laundry, dishes, mail and everything else I have to do in the day. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to get out of bed in the morning. (Yawn) You might ask well why are you still up right now, well I have another couple hours worth of work (this time it's my writing work) to do before I can actually lay down tonight or should I say in the morning before doing it all over again come 6:30-7:00 am. The good news is that the boys are going to school tomorrow (Yay) and Mom just might get a cat nap, although, I seriously doubt it, but hey a gal can dream right or at least I can until 3:45 when the boys get home from school. LOL. You know sometimes it's hard to wear so many caps in one day. It's exhausting on most days, but at the end of it when your kids are asleep and you're exhausted with no bedtime in site, just seeing those angels (yeah only when they're asleep are they angels) so peaceful makes the whole day worth while. At least until the following morning when it just doesn't pay to get out of bed. Night everyone, Sienna

I feel like a weight has been lifted off and my energy and mental focus have returned to me. I'm absolutely thrilled to feel this excitement once again after being so lost in a vaccum and void of entanglements that did nothing but drag me down and I have the Divas to thank for that. They inspire me on a daily basis with their renewed energies and positive outlook on life in general. Many divas have given me support through a recent ordeal without even knowing it and shown me that there are "real" people out there who do care about eachother even if they've never met face to face. What I've Been Up To

Hi Everyone, Well it's been a little while since I posted. I do have a good reason. I've been slaving over my story "Got Sex" and whooohooo I'm almost done with the first draft. Not to mention being pulled away from the keyboard (Okay so nobody twisted my arm, but hey I'm an RD junkie) by my one addition--Romance Divas. The board has been humming with news from Hotlanta, workshops galore and our coming spotlight author. Oh, and then there's the little task of designing another website on top of being mom, wife and all those little chores that go along with that title and today was the first day of school. Yes, school started early here this year. Waaaa. I was actually enjoying my summer and now it's come to an end. Darn it. Getting up at the crack of dawn is not my idea of fun (Sorry, I'm a nightbird.) I get most of my writing done once the kiddos are in bed and as long as the writing flows without a telephone interruption and boy have the words been flowing the last few days for me. I'm so happy with my progress, despite the constant interruptions. On another note, the query contest winners have been announced and while I didn't make the cut I do want to offer big congrats to those that did. Yay ladies. Way to go. Now, just because my story didn't make the cut doesn't mean I'm giving up on it. I'm going to wait till my results come in and decide where to go from there depending on the feedback and hopefully in the near future "Got Sex" will find a home (even if it's under my other pen name. It's been a while since I've last checked in, but I can honestly say it's for good reasons. I've been busy, busy, busy trying to finish my Kensington Aphrodisia story in time. I'm nearly half way there, thank goodness, but I've still a way to go and with three boys out of school for summer it's harder than usual to accomplish much. The hubby is down with a pinched nerve in his neck and has missed the last two days work so that's been another distraction, but I don't mind since he's feeling so bad. And let's not forget this swealtering heat. Uggg so hot you can barely breath down here in the south and no air conditioning to boot makes for a mighty cranky writer. LOL. (just ask my poor hubby). But in the few snatches of time I've managed to steal I've added another 3,000 words to my story. I know not that huge a deal to most, but it's moving along pretty well for the time being and I'm proud of myself for not giving in under such adversity and chaos in my "other" life. I will get this story done in time. I will get this story done in time. Everyone join me in my new mantra. I need all the good carma I can get. Hey everyone, Well it's Monday once again. Another day of summer school drop offs, pick ups and trips to the home improvement store, (Grins and sighs of exhaustion) but through it all I finally tweaked my query letter enough (I hope) to send it off. After the WAW Romance Divas query contest judging comments and my revamped and reposted attempt, the Divas have given me the go ahead with two thumbs up for my final draft. I want to post a big thank you to all the Divas who commented and suggested problem areas and gave me the help I needed to get this baby shining like a new penny. DIVAS ROCK!!!! So as I type I'm printing out my baby to send off into this big bad world and praying for it to be welcomed with open arms by the judges. Hi everyone, Well, Sunday ends the Romance Divas We All Win Query contest and I can honestly say that the name implies it all. With every judge sheet I received on my entry, I found valuable feedback on how to improve my work. So much so, that I've decided to rework my query and enter it in the Pocono Lehigh Romance Writers Write Hook Query Letter Contest (final judge is Hilary Sares of Kensington. SQUEE). I'm very excited to dip my toes into this contest and the Divas have given me the confidence to send my baby out into the world and take this chance. Hi everyone, TGIFF! Yep thank goodness it's finally Friday. The weekend has begun as well as the Romance Divas We All Win Query contest judging and I'm so hyped. This contest is just as awesome as all the others RD has hosted. I've gotten several judges comments on my entry and each and every one has been so helpful in showing me how I can improve my query letter. I know most people hate query letters almost as much as synopsis writing, but for me I find a query letter interesting. I searched the internet over for every article I could find on them before beginning my own for this contest and I can tell ya there is some very contradicting information out there. It's like a vast sea of confusion. So what did I do? Why I took what I thought were the best examples and mixed it all up to create what I hope turned out to be a very original idea with all the basic information. I guess to an extent it worked because one judge even commented on how my voice came through so well. Yay!!!! It's tough to write so much into such a tiny space and give an editor or agent an echo of you, but with just the right tone and well chosen words you can express so much about yourself that it amazes me (not that mine was perfect, believe me it was far from it), but the point is to learn from this contest and that's exactly what I've done. I hope to send this ms. to either Cobblestone Press for their Tryst line or Kensington's Aphrodisia line and thanks to another Romance Divas We All Win contest I feel very confident in my abilities to write a decent query letter--hopefully one that will snag the editors attention and rope me a contract.(big grin) So, if you're a writer looking for help then visit the Romance Divas. Hi everyone, Sorry I'm a day late here. Family issues have kept me away, which seems to be a theme with me lately. Family, friends and writing are what I do daily not to mention the mundane chores of life. So, I've come to enjoy blogging and sometimes venting about the stress and frustration of a writers life but, before I go any further I want to wish every Mother out there a very Happy Mother's Day. I hope all of you had a very special day with family and friends surrounding you and that all those little hugs and kisses made your day. I know it did mine. Yeah, I'm a mom of three boys. So as a present to all you Mom's out there, here's a bunch of beautiful flowers. No matter what other carreer you pursue being a Mother is the best one you'll ever have even on those days when your 8 year old thinks riding a clothes basket down a creek like a boat is fun until that same boat sinks and your baby is covered in mud and water up to his neck. Or your twin 13 year olds think that the phone is specifically put in so they can spend every second after school on it with friends and those giggly girlfriends that make you want to pull your hair out. Hi everyone, I thought I'd drop in today and let everyone know how the Romance Divas chat with the Ellora's Cave authors went. Fantablous. It was so great and the authors were wonderful to chat with. I learned so much from them and they are so nice and easy going. I had a ball and I even won a downloadable copy of Denise A. Agnew's new book, Shadows and Ruins. I am so psyched about this especially since the first EC book I read was The Dare by Denise and I loved it. Since then I've often visited EC to find Denise's books and fell in love with the wonderful stories offered. Hi everyone, I've been MIA for a while now leaving my poor blog in a rut of sameness. In my defense, the world seems to have conspired against me in the time department. Between remodeling, sick kids, my medical problems and life's other big hiccups, even thinking about writing seems to be a feat unto itself. So how do you write when your plate is so full that Porky Pig would love to be your shadow? Well in my case I haven't. Big no no. I can hear the disapproving tones and see the wagging fingers. But others can and do. They push through the good and the bad to create the novels of their dreams and if they can do it, well, so can I. What do I need to make it happen? Determination and organization. Okay, Sienna, pull up those boot straps and prepare for battle. So as a late New Year's resolution I'm going to take the good, bad, and ugly and wade through the muck and put fingertips to keyboard. As Tony Little says, "You can do it!!!" yeah. And so can you and I.

I'm back and I can see again. LOL. I finally found the system I could live with and now I'm able to see everything in brilliant, bold color. Boy it's true you don't know what ya got till it's gone that's for sure. Now that I'm able to tell what I'm doing I'll be taking the next few days to update my website (yeah I can hear the cheers. Sick of the plain jane decor are we? Me too. LOL) So hopefully very soon you'll see a new look on my cyber home. Thank all of you for being so patient with me during my computer meltdown. I really appreciate the understanding and lack of complaints for the not so up to date information here lately. As for writing news. No, I didn't win the Blaze contest or the Romance Divas Best Opening Hook contest, but I did glean some understanding as to why thanks to Nadia. So in the long run, I do believe that each contestant did win in the end because feedback can be a great thing. I still haven't heard back from my two magazine submissions (I'm at eight weeks and counting. I hope that's a good thing) so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that Woman's World will find that something special in me and my writing ability. What a wonderful Christmas present that would be. And speaking of Christmas, (shameful plug ahead) my print books are still available at CafePress. Working on a new look

Hi, I haven't posted in a while so thought I'd jump on here and let everyone know that I haven't forgotten. I've been busy working on my WIPS, remodeling and finding a new look for my blog. Something that says me, which has been really difficult to find with my strange personality mixing with my chosen genre. Okay I hear the giggles in the background. LOL. The physco woman finding something to fit her? Yeah right. But I will sooner or later. I may not find the exact match, but I think a dash of suspense, a dash of romance and a bit of spunk will cover the deal. LOL. Now mix in picking colors and floor tile or hard wood floors and countertops and my designing palette has been stretched to the limit.LOL. As you can tell I like bold, brilliant colors, but I am trying to tone them down by using neutrals in combination. My decorating style leans toward the Tuscan. The flair of colors, the beauty of the earth, ahhh so me. Seems contrasting to my writing personality doesn't it? LOL. Well that's it for now. Not hearing is a good thing...right? Wrong, it's driving me nuts. Distracting me from writing to the point that I'm ready to pull my hair out. Focus, girl, focus. Come on now the rejection or acceptance will come when they come. So much going on in the submission department for me right now that I'm on overload, which is good and bad both. Good that I'm able to write, bad that it's distracting me from keeping the flow going. The Romance Divas "We All Win" Best Opening Hook contest winner hasn't been announced yet. The Blaze contest announcement date is closing in. Two submissions to Woman's World and another submission in progress. So, if you're a writer maybe you can understand where I'm coming from on the hair pulling out thing. (LOL.) Sometimes even a rejection is a breath of relief. Kissed Another Baby Goodbye

I finally typed the end on my mini mystery, Fired Up, and first thing this morning it went into the mailbox. Yaaaahhh. Feels good to be writing so much again. I've already started my next mini mystery as well. So, I'm really proud of myself for sticking to it and getting two babies out the door and a third one on its way to being done all while in the midst of chaotic room changing and redecorating. Yikes. CHavens is giving a workshop on the forums under AOTM workshops called Fast Draft. Some interesting stuff already so hurry over and don't miss out. She's given some background today, but the main workshop starts tomorrow. Second is a Q&A with Deidre Knight of the Knight Agency. In the forums you'll see a topic called Ask Deidre. Hello everyone. Another rainy day here, but I have made some progress in my writing. Last night I started a short story aimed for Woman's World. Aim high or go home as they say. Hopefully it will pan out and become a story that Woman's World will love and while I wait for the yeah or nay from Woman's World I'll continue to work on other projects. I currently have a SIM in progress that my friend is going to kill me soon if I don't finish it. (LOL) I have two Blaze's in progress and several short stories aimed at many different publishers. I also started a story that came to me out of the blue. Still not sure where it will fit, but I'm thinking Bombshell or possibly Chick Lit. Okay I know what you're all thinking, wow she's never going to finish all that. Well, I take it one day at a time and the story that speaks to me I work on so I know that eventually I will type the end on each and every one of these stories. Right now, though I'm published through DiskUs Publishing, I don't have the heavy hitter contracts to keep me on deadline so I'm taking full advantage of the wide genre picnic spread out before me until the day that deadline hell meets me. You just never know what's around the corner waiting for you so take advantage of it while you can. Still no word in the Romance Divas "We All Win" Best Opening Hook contest, but I'll be sure to let everyone know the minute I hear something. As for the Blaze contest, I'm counting down the days until the October announcement of the winners. Even my own entry (Shhh, not allowed to give away which one is mine to keep it all fair) has received some great comments and scoring. I'm looking forward to the annoucement of the finalists after September 7th and the final judge is Nadia Cornier of the Creative Media Agency, so I hope to hear that someone is offered representation from this contest.
